Impact

Jesus intends his people to make an impact in the world, particularly by our loving service to others. He sent his disciples out to deal with real people, tell the Good News, and get their hands dirty. Students at Mount Carmel spend time every week working with different organizations around the city, and participate in two ministry trips outside of Edmonton during the year.

We aim to have our students committed to affecting the world in which they live.

Local Impact Placements
Mt. Carmel students spend 6-8 hours per week in Impact Placements. Each student will serve with two or three different agencies or ministries, learning to live as a servant to others. This service takes place on specific afternoons, evenings and weekends. Types of Impact Placements students serve with include: ESL, seniors citizens homes, inner city outreaches, group homes for disabled, youth outreach, church youth ministries, children’s ministries, hospital visitation, and a variety of church-based ministries.

Global Impact
There are two ministry exposure trips each school year. Currently these trips include a fall trip to inner-city Vancouver and a spring trip to northern Canada. These trips are intended to increase compassion for the "least of these" by introducing students to a variety of people groups, as well as demonstrating different needs and opportunities for service.
