Junior High Focus is a two day youth event that happens the first weekend in February. It is a time for youth groups from supporting churches and kids from summer camps to come together, spend some time with God and have some good eats and good times.
Focus started up out of a desire to connect young people with Mount Carmel and with the larger Christian community. Over the years we have turned out some well worn t-shirts and some that are often referred to as 'painting rags'. The action all happens at Mount Carmel, and is run mostly by current students who help pack a lot of energy into those two days. The weather is usually cold and snowy, and so we get cold and snowy too. We love our 'Bedlam Ball' and are not afraid to drop 'Da Bomb' hot sauce on any brave young palettes. We do our best to capture as much of the weekend as we can, and my favorite part is always the scramble and technical difficulties encountered as we actually try to show the event footage at the end on Saturday night. It is amazing how much patience young people have when they are waiting to see themselves on t.v.
