Another fun year of connecting and competition. We've posted the statistics as well as some photo's below--some times are still undergoing verification.
The Elijah Run is held on the second Sunday in September as an annual five kilometer “Fun-Run” in Edmontonʼs river valley combined with a public barbecue for Mount Carmelʼs supporters. While the event does raise some money for Mount Carmel, it primarily creates a gathering point for Mount Carmel supporters and an opportunity for the new class of students to recognize that they are part of a bigger tradition.
This 5 km run takes you through the Goldbar area and into Edmonton's beautiful river valley. The out and back cross has some hills, some street and some trail. Your participation helps Mount Carmel continue to shape the lives of young adults. Since 1968, Mount Carmel has combined Bible-based teaching with an emphasis on active service to encourage students to live with a passionate love for God and for others.
Normally 70-80 people participate in the run, both walkers and runners. The competitive streak does come out, with a course record of under 17:58 minutes. We welcome all walkers and runners, and also anyone who wants to join the 250 people who come for the barbecue following.
